Supports Resin Materials for Cutting Edge Electronic Equipment

.....With progress in development of high-level information equipment, typified by personal computers, further compactness, lighter weight, higher performance and higher reliability of equipment are demanded. The Cluster Technology Co., Ltd. develops metal-related molding materials, and receives wide acclaim for these from leading electronic makers. The thermosetting injection-molding material "Epocluster" developed by the company has made it possible to produce complex ultra-precision small parts with expanded designing degrees of freedom, increased high density and high performance. These parts were made by aluminum die casting in the past. The resin material, "Epocluster" is closer to being a metal rather than a resin, and therefore outstanding dimensional stability may be achieved. Compared with conventional die-cast products, products made with this resin material possess features such as superior product precision which does not require further machining, superiority in cost aspects, and resistance against deformation by heat.
..... As a result, it has been adopted for molded parts of the pick-ups of recording/playback lasers which take in information from DVDs, MO disks, etc., in the latest electronic equipment. Furthermore, the insulation resin "Epohard" developed by the company is low-priced and makes possible the forming of complicated parts not possible with ceramics. As a heavy electric equipment insulation material, it boasts a top share in resin insulator parts for indoor distribution panels.
..... From now on, the period of several years in which a transition will be made to next-generation recording media such as DVD will present a great opportunity for the company to achieve substantial growth. However, under the present situation, today's techniques will become techniques of the past in tomorrow. Therefore, the company will not stand still on its present technical foundations but strive for further development while accumulating new technology and know-how.
